Came here during happy hour and probably will only come here during happy hour. It's from 6-8pm daily and it's half-off all beers. I went for the Hoegaarden. The big glass was like 1800 yen or something so it came out to like 900 yen each glass. I got two of those. We ordered buffalo wings and omurice and it was pretty good. The best part was at the end, we had a raffle drawing. I think for every 3000 yen you spent, you get to draw a ticket from a box. We drew 2 tickets and happened to win a glass cup and a coupon for 20 buffalo wings. Definitely coming back here again.
Happy hour is now 20% off. I came here hearing it was 50%. Also the beers are served in smaller glasses than many other places around Tokyo. There is also a seating fee of 300 but nothing is offer as compensation. Cheese nachos are chips and cheese wiz. Wings are also miniature. Won't be back here again
¥300 cover charge + ¥1200 bottled beer + ¥1000+ food = you can do better for craft beer in Tokyo.
good selection of beer, average quality food, very much lacking in dinasaurs
There are always 5-6 types of on-tap craft beer. Mainly overseas breweries. There are a variety of Otsumami menus and gutsuri menus, and the sales staff will serve you well. There is also a space for one person to drink at the counter, which is a good shop.
*sad trombone noises*Was initially really excited about this place, based on the advertisements and a cursory glance at their Google page. Unfortunately, one mediocre T-Rex skeleton and a lot of mediocre, overpriced, international beers was the extent of all the promise the name implied.
Those beers really kicked in! Was a rly good night! Prices where ok too.
Quite big bar for ikebukuro. They have a wide choice of beers, and about six of them are half-priced during the happy hour. The decoration of the place is based on neon light and dinosaurs, it's not a great match, but the result isn't repulsive either. Not too many people inside, but the place I quite lively.
This is a great find, especially if you take advantage of the 6:00 till 7:30 half price 'Happy Hour'. Unfortunately, nowadays the useful Beer in Japan I-phone/Android app doesn't refund the 300yen seat charge for the happy hour but it can be used for after that or on occasions when HH isn't on offer. Be aware of occasional private parties when the bar might be closed to others. Check twitter or phone in advance.
Awesome selection and a fun menu. Laid back atmosphere. I'll keep coming back!
Poor selection of craft beers and absolutely dismal food. How can a bar screw up fish and chips? Avoid this dive. I fail to see how people are giving this place 4 or 5 stars. A so-called "large" glass of beer is small, much smaller than a US pint, yet they charge 1350 yen for it. Absolute rubbish. If you want a decent pint of craft beer in Tokyo, this isn't the place.
L) xla
Tried to go here but there was a private party for the anniversary and it was 6000 to get in.
the place prides itself on having craft beers, so it surprised me that only 4 of the 6 taps were actually craft, and 3 of them were IPAs, making the selection feel really limited. bottle selection is better. food was OK. happy hour prices are good, otherwise it's expensive. if you're looking for craft beer, there are better options elsewhere.
While at first the wide selection of draft beers and exotic products on tap made the table charge seem negligible. However, after three attempts to order, each time being told what we wanted wasn't available, we ended up leaving with nothing but disappointment and the stench of cigarettes for our time.
Best place to drink beer and see city lights in Ikebukuro. So comfy and delicious.
Not one of the cheaper places around, though their half-off Happy Hour from 6 pm to 8 pm makes all "pints" 650 yen. However, this is one of my most favorite beer joints in Tokyo because of the friendly staff and quite decent food menu. There *is* a 300 yen table charge, even when tables are open and you won't get any food or any snacks with it, but that just means you'll have to drink more happy hour beers to make it even out. :)Kirin Heartland and Hoegaarden are always on tap, as well as 3 guest beers. Depending on what they might have lined up, the guest beers might be 3 IPAs, IPAs and a stout, or a random barley wine. The menu at Beersaurus Ikebukuro heavily favors the California breweries such as Stone, Green Flash, and Ballast Point, but recently they've had Southern Tier and North Coast as well. One nice thing that they do is that on your birthday you can get a free half-yard of Heartland, or a giant parfait. You might have to be somewhat of a regular though, I'm not sure.
Okay selection. Lots of Belgian, which I like. No English at all.
